This Cookie Policy explains how Tourismo LLC, the operator of GMC Shield, uses cookies and similar technologies on gmc-shield.com. We use the minimum strictly necessary to operate the Service. We do not use advertising, marketing, or behavioral tracking cookies.
1. What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow the website to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or a session identifier. They can be “first-party” (set by the website you visit) or “third-party” (set by other domains).
Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixels — operate in comparable ways. References to “cookies” in this Policy include these similar technologies.
2. Cookies We Use
The Service uses the following categories of cookies:
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They do not require your consent under applicable law.
| Name / Origin | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm (Cloudflare) | Bot management and security: distinguishes between legitimate visitors and automated traffic. | 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance (Cloudflare) | Stores the result of any Cloudflare security challenge so you do not have to redo it on every page. | Up to 30 days |
| localStorage: gmc-shield-checklist-* (first-party) | Saves the state of the action-plan checkboxes on your audit report, so you can resume where you left off. | Until cleared by you |
| localStorage: gmc-shield-theme (first-party) | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. | Until cleared by you |
| sessionStorage: merchant-context-* (first-party) | Temporarily stores the four answers of the pre-payment questionnaire so that they can be attached to your Audit. | Until the browser tab is closed |
Payment cookies (Stripe)
When you proceed to checkout, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted payment page. Stripe sets its own cookies on its domain (checkout.stripe.com) for fraud prevention, security, and to operate the checkout. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy.
Analytics and advertising cookies
We currently do not use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics) or advertising cookies on gmc-shield.com. If we add an analytics provider in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
3. How to Control Cookies
You can control or delete cookies in several ways:
- Through your browser: most browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies. Consult your browser's help pages — for example Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
- Through your device settings: you can clear browsing data, local storage and session storage from your device's settings menu.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of non-essential processing for that device. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from functioning correctly (for example, the action-plan checklist will not save your progress).
4. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for instance when we add a new third-party provider or remove an obsolete cookie. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
5. Contact
For any question regarding our use of cookies, contact us at contact@gmc-shield.com or by mail at Tourismo LLC, 2105 Vista Oeste NW, Suite E #3758, Albuquerque, NM 87120, USA.
